Description

The Global Supply Chain Manager is responsible for global supply related activities within the Business Unit, such as Inventory Management, Material Planning, Logistics, Shipping, Warehousing & Transportation with a primary emphasis on delivering superior on-time delivery to the customer without negative impact on working capital.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement global strategic procurement plans for top suppliers
  • Optimize the supply chain with the goal of reliability and sustainability of all relevant processes and interfaces
  • Improve supplier quality / validation process
  • Professional contract negotiation and contract management
  • Implement continuous improvement, standards, tools and (lean) procedures in supply chain processes
  • Develop and manage metrics and score cards for suppliers surrounding quality, on-time delivery, cost reductions and sustainability
  • Drive inventory accuracy and optimization of materials, warehousing, and logistics
  • Control and improve stock levels / obsolete stock levels
  • Provide motivational leadership & direction to all aspects of the Order Fulfillment process to achieve Safety. Quality, Delivery & Cost goals while enhancing teamwork.

Primary Objectives

  • Achieve on-time delivery and quality metrics to target through supply chain development and inventory management
  • Balance working capital with the demands of business using a strong Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process
  • Strive for continuous improvement and savings with a robust and executable sourcing funnel
  • Implement and promote an Operational Excellence culture throughout company with the goal of increasing capacity & productivity, maintaining quality, & meeting customer/manufacturing profitability targets

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong project planning experience with the ability to coordinate across different sites involving multiple teams
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive and accurate reports, forecasts, estimates and budgets
  • Demonstrated success with Strategic Sourcing efforts & cost savings
  • Excellent oral and written communication and negotiation skills to work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience with manufacturing; Multi-site experience preferred
  • Must be steadfast about continuous improvement
  • Previous success designing and implementing supply chain connections and processes
  • Solid Microsoft Office competency, particularly with spreadsheet and/or database management
  • Strong leadership, coaching skills, and work ethic

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred majors include Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Production Management or Engineering. MBA preferred.
  • APICS certification is a significant plus
  • 5+ years of experience responsible for material management preferred
  • 5 +years in a leadership position with experience managing individuals
  • SAP or ERP experience preferred
  • Must be able to work in the United States- no work visas will be provided
  • Ability to travel globally 20% of the time
