Description

Technical Services Chemical Engineer to support our Customers in the Oelo and Biodiesel industry.  If you have experience in these industries we want to talk with you.

Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility will be in the field of customer/prospect project management, customer service, and on-site customer support. The purpose of this position is to decrease sales cycle time, roll out product to new customers, and retain existing business.
  • Significant travel will be required.
  • Work as customer/prospect project leader and act as liaison between Sales and I&D to achieve sales success throughout the sales cycle from the development of customer needs, to analytical services and equipment recommendations, to product sale and startup, through follow up customer support.
  • Motivated to find solutions to complex technical problems.

The Role:

  • Technical Sales/Service Duties
  • Technical Sales / Service (on-site) – Focus will vary as markets mature and new markets development. Primary initial market focus will be Oleo.
  • Travel with sales personnel, as needed, to act as technical advisor for prospect sales calls and customer technical support.
  • Initiate new customer and application projects utilizing formal Project Management
  • Accomplish project goals by:
  • Working with Sales and I&D to coordinate necessary laboratory work to establish technical and economic viability of new customer processes and applications.
  • Work with customer/prospect and 3rd party suppliers to determine process layout and required equipment, obtain equipment and installation quotations, determine process operations cost, in order to project ROI/Payback for the customer/prospect.
  • Integrating the capabilities of other Dallas Group personnel as appropriate.
  • Prepare Project Management Reports on an ongoing basis.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Customer and sales support (travel)
  • Design tests, protocols, and tactical application strategy
  • Design, quote, develop operations cost, and develop ROI/Payback
  • Evaluate data
  • Write reports and discuss findings with Sales

Requirements

  • Computer proficiency in Windows based applications including, Word, and Excel and Powerpoint. As well as CRM and Expense software.
  • Professional knowledge of chemical principles, theories, practices and methodology in evaluating, designing and completing scientific investigations.
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate results along with appropriate interpretations, conclusions and recommendations.
  • Excellent oral presentation skills and written communication skills.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of:
    • Laboratory wet chemistry techniques such as titrimetric, gravimetric, and colorimetric analysis.
    • Acid-base chemistry
    • Adsorption and surface chemistry (desired but not necessary).

Physical requirements:

  •  Able to wear respiratory equipment, hard hat, protective gloves, and safety glasses/face shield (possible exposure to nuisance particulate in excess of TLV).
  • Capable of intermittent lifting, carrying, up to 25 lbs.
  • Good physical and manual dexterity required for bending, stooping, and lifting involved lab and or pilot plant tests.
  • Ability to use hand tools for equipment adjustment or repair.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and platforms for inspection, adjustments, and testing is required.
  • Preferred residence in the Southern Indiana or Louisville, Kentucky area.

Education

  • Chemical Engineering degree with at least 5 years of related experience in industrial customer technical support, and/or internal technical support in the Oleo industry.
